Dreading Presentations as a New Teacher
As a new teacher in a middle school, I can't shake the fear that grips me every time I have to present a lesson to my class. I'm only 24, and while I love working with children, the thought of standing in front of them makes my heart race. I worry about their judgment and my ability to teach effectively. I feel inadequate and often find myself questioning whether I made the right choice in becoming a teacher. Please pray for my anxiety to lessen and for me to find confidence in my abilities. I want to be an example for my students, not just academically but also in how to face fears.

Dear Emma, thank you for reaching out and sharing your struggle. It's so encouraging to see your passion for teaching and your concern for your students. Remember, as you step into the classroom, that you are not alone; God is with you. In Lamentations 3:23, we are reminded that His mercies are new every morning, and each day brings a fresh start for you and your students. You can lean on God’s strength, as Psalm 91:1 tells us that those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Instead of seeing this as a performance, view it as an opportunity to share knowledge and love. Remember, teaching is about connection, not perfection. Let’s pray: Lord, help Emma to find joy and peace in teaching, easing her fears and allowing her to shine brightly in her calling. Amen.
