Drowning in Debt: Seeking God’s Guidance
As a 45-year-old small business owner, I have always been passionate about what I do. However, the past year has been a struggle, and I’ve accumulated more debt than I ever imagined. I find myself constantly anxious about how I’ll pay my bills and keep my business afloat. I’m afraid of what might happen if things don’t turn around. It feels like I'm sinking deeper, and despite my best efforts, the anxiety is suffocating. I pray for wisdom and strength to navigate this difficult season, and I ask for prayer that I may find peace amidst the uncertainty, trusting that God has a plan for me.

Dear David, I want to commend you for your honesty in expressing the struggles you face as a business owner. It can be deeply unsettling when we feel overwhelmed by debt and financial pressures. Remember, God is with you through every storm. Isaiah 41:10 reassures us, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." In times of uncertainty, it’s crucial to seek God’s guidance. Philippians 4:6 encourages us not to be anxious but to bring our requests to God in prayer and supplication. You are not alone in this struggle; He is your refuge and strength (Psalms 46:1). I encourage you to seek wise counsel, perhaps from a financial advisor or someone in your church community who can offer practical help alongside prayer. Trust that God will lead you through this challenge. I will pray for you to experience His peace, understanding, and direction in your life.
