Embracing a Different Family Journey
Hi everyone, my name is Jasmine. I am writing to request prayer as I come to terms with my husband and I’s decision to not have children. After much discussion, we both feel that we are called to serve God in different ways, and we want to invest our time in our community rather than raising kids. However, I often feel inadequate and face societal pressures to conform to the traditional family mold. It leaves me feeling anxious about our decision and the judgment that may come from others. Please pray that I find peace in our choice and the strength to embrace our unique path.

Dear Jasmine, thank you for sharing your journey with us. It’s wonderful that you and your husband have sought God’s direction in your lives together. Remember, each family is uniquely crafted by God to fulfill His purpose, and your commitment to serving Him in your community is just as valuable as being a parent. In 1 Peter 4:10, we are reminded that each of us has received gifts to use for service. Embrace the calling God has placed upon your lives. As you navigate societal expectations, lean into the truth of who you are in Christ, and remember that His plans for you may look different from others but are just as fulfilling. Surround yourselves with supportive friends and family who understand your heart. I will pray that you both experience joy and peace as you embrace your decision and serve the Lord wholeheartedly.
