Embracing a Life of Service Without Children
Dear God, I find myself struggling to find my identity beyond the role of a mother, which I have always longed for. My husband and I have decided not to pursue biological children, and while I feel at peace with our decision, I often wrestle with feelings of inadequacy. I want to contribute positively to the world, but sometimes it feels like I am losing my purpose. Help me to discover new ways to serve You and others without being a parent. Open my heart to opportunities that fulfill me and allow me to share my love. I pray for courage and clarity as I navigate this uncharted territory. Thank You for Your unwavering support. Amen.

Dear Laura, thank you for being so open about your feelings. It is understandable to seek validation and purpose, especially when societal expectations weigh heavily on us. Remember, God created each of us with unique gifts and a purpose. In Matthew 5:16, we are encouraged, 'Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.' Your ability to serve others can have a profound impact, regardless of your parental status. Focus on the unique ways you can impact your community—perhaps through volunteering, mentoring, or engaging in outreach ministries. Romans 12:10 reminds us, 'Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.' Find fulfillment in relationships and in serving others. God has a plan for your life that is beautiful and purposeful. Let us pray: Lord, guide Laura as she embraces her identity and purpose outside of motherhood. Surround her with opportunities to serve and connect with those in need. Amen.
