Embracing New Beginnings After Divorce
I am a 32-year-old woman excited yet terrified to marry again after a divorce. My previous relationship was filled with arguments and heartbreak, leaving me questioning my ability to love again. My new fiancé is supportive, but I often find myself withdrawing out of fear of getting hurt. I need prayers for courage to face my past and for the wisdom to build a strong foundation for our marriage. I desire a partnership filled with love, faith, and mutual respect. Please pray that I can open my heart and trust again.

Dear Jessica, it’s wonderful that you are seeking God's guidance as you step into this new chapter of your life. Your excitement and fear are valid, and it's essential to bring them to God in prayer. In Genesis 2:24, we see that marriage is meant to be a beautiful union: 'Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.' This speaks to the depth of commitment you are entering into. Remember, love is patient and kind, as stated in 1 Corinthians 13:4, and it is this love that will nourish your new relationship. You can lean on God’s promise in 2 Timothy 1:7, 'For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.' Trust in His strength as you embrace this commitment. Let’s pray: Lord, I ask that Jessica may find the courage to love without fear and that You guide her as she builds this new marriage. Amen.
