Facing Ageism While Seeking Employment
I am 58 years old and have been facing significant challenges in finding a job since being laid off. Despite my experience, I feel that I'm being overlooked simply because of my age. It's disheartening to go through interviews where I feel like I’m not even given a fair chance. I’ve been praying for wisdom in my approach to job searching and acceptance of my situation. I ask for prayers for strength to keep going and for the right opportunity to come my way, where my skills can be appreciated regardless of my age.

Dear Samantha, I understand the frustration and hurt you are experiencing. It can be challenging to face ageism, but remember that your worth is rooted in Christ, not in how the world views you. In 1 Samuel 16:7, we learn that the Lord looks at the heart, and He values wisdom that comes with experience. Your life skills and insights gained through the years are invaluable. Trust in God's plan for your life as He knows you by name (Isaiah 43:1). As you navigate this difficult time, continue to seek new avenues and opportunities, and don’t lose hope. Let’s pray for divine favor in your job search and for doors to open that reflect your true capabilities.
