Facing Anxiety When Away from Home
I’m a 30-year-old man who often travels for work, and being away from home heightens my anxiety levels significantly. The unfamiliar environments, the constant change, and the noise often leave me feeling off-balance and uneasy. I miss the comfort of my home and find it hard to concentrate at work when I’m away. I pray for strength and calm during these times, that I can focus on my tasks and not be overwhelmed by my surroundings. I need prayers for peace during my travels.
Pastor's Response
Pastor Michael Thompson
Senior Pastor, Bethel Church
Dear Michael, your situation is indeed a challenging one, and I appreciate your openness in sharing it. Traveling can be a source of stress, especially when it pulls us from our comfort zones. In Psalm 91:1, we read, 'He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.' This verse invites us into a divine refuge, where we can find rest and peace despite our circumstances. Whenever you travel, I encourage you to create moments of stillness where you can connect with God, perhaps through prayer or meditation on His word. Remember, Matthew 6:34 teaches us not to be anxious about tomorrow, for each day has sufficient trouble of its own. Focus on the present moment, and trust in God’s provision for each day. Let’s pray that you find comfort and reassurance in God’s presence wherever your work takes you.
