Facing Automation in My Longtime Career
As a dedicated employee in my field for over 25 years, the recent news of automation impacting jobs has left me feeling anxious and uncertain. I’m 50 years old and the idea of retraining feels overwhelming. I worry that I may not have the energy or the skills to adapt to new technologies. My heart is heavy, and I fear being left behind or judged for seeking a fresh start in my career. I ask for your prayers as I navigate this daunting transition, looking for guidance on how to move forward and the courage to embrace new opportunities.

Dear James, thank you for sharing your heart with us. Change can be particularly daunting, especially when it seems to come so abruptly. In times like these, it’s essential to remember that God has a plan for each of us, even when the path is unclear. He reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.' Embrace this season as a chance to grow and explore new avenues. As you consider retraining, seek wisdom in prayer, for James 1:5 tells us, 'If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.' Remember to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Let's pray together for clarity and courage as you embark on this journey. May God fill you with peace and lead you to the right opportunities.
