Facing Constant Anxiety While Caring for a Disabled Child
I am the primary caregiver for my son, who has severe disabilities. Every day is filled with challenges, and the constant worry about his health and future weighs heavily on my heart. I often find myself gripped by anxiety, fearing that I’m not doing enough for him or that I might fail him in some way. The responsibility feels overwhelming, and I often have to fight back tears of frustration and fatigue. I desperately need prayer for strength and guidance. I want to trust in God’s plan for us and to find peace amidst the chaos. Please pray that I can learn to lean on Him more and find solace in His promises.

Dear Carlos, thank you for sharing your heart with us. Caring for your son is a tremendous responsibility, and it’s natural to feel anxious given the challenges you face. I want you to know that God sees your struggles, and He cares deeply for both you and your son. In Isaiah 26:3, we are reminded, 'Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.' Lifting your worries to God and focusing on His goodness can bring you that peace. Remember that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). You are doing so much already, and it’s important to allow yourself grace. Lean into prayer and community support; don’t hesitate to ask for help from others. I will be praying for you to find rest in God’s presence and to feel His unwavering love surrounding both you and your son. Let’s pray: Lord, grant Carlos the peace and strength to navigate this journey with faith and love. Amen.
