Facing Dread Without Clear Cause in My Life
I’m David, a 50-year-old man who has been feeling an inexplicable sense of dread for a few months now. It's a strange feeling that creeps in even when things are going well. I have a loving family, a steady job, and yet the dread lingers, causing me to feel distant and anxious. I want to be fully present for my loved ones, but this low-level fear keeps pulling me away. I know that God is my refuge, yet I seem to be struggling to accept that truth. I am reaching out for prayers to help me break through this anxiety and to help me reconnect with my faith and family.

Grief and Healing Ministry
Dear David, thank you for your vulnerability in sharing your feelings. It’s not uncommon to experience feelings of dread when life seems stable; sometimes, our minds can create worries that draw us away from the joy that God has for us. I want to remind you that our Lord is a stronghold in times of trouble (Nahum 1:7). You are not alone in this battle; He is with you. In Romans 8:15, we find reassurance that we are children of God, not slaves to fear. Embrace that identity! Trust in His promise that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). I will be praying for you, David, that you may feel His peace wash over you and that He grants you the courage to face each day with hope. Amen.
