Facing Fear and Excitement in Church Planting
As I stand on the precipice of starting a new church, I feel a turbulent mix of fear and excitement. The thought of stepping into this calling is exhilarating, yet I often find myself wondering if I am truly equipped for the task. I worry about the challenges I might face—building a community, spreading the word of God, and leading effectively. It's such a leap of faith, and sometimes I wonder if I'm in over my head. I long to trust in God's plan and to follow the path He has laid out for me. Please pray that I find courage in my uncertainty and clarity in my vision, so I can embrace this journey wholeheartedly.

Senior Pastor, Grace Community Church
Dear David, thank you for sharing your heart with us. It’s perfectly natural to feel both excited and fearful as you embark on this significant journey of church planting. Remember, God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Your willingness to step out in faith is commendable, and I assure you that God is with you every step of the way. Consider the promise in Jeremiah 29:11, where God declares, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.' Lean into His guidance, and remember the assurance that with faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). Pray and seek His wisdom; He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). I will keep you in my prayers, asking that God fills you with boldness and a clear vision for your mission.
