Facing Financial Strain During Separation
I’m a military spouse, and my husband is currently deployed. While I try to be supportive, the financial strain is getting to me, and it's causing a lot of tension in our marriage. Bills are piling up, and the stress is wearing on both of us. I feel guilty asking for his support when he’s away, and I worry that this issue is driving a wedge between us. I’m trying to trust in God’s provision, but I’m overwhelmed and tired. I ask for prayers for financial relief and for our marriage to be strengthened through this challenging time.

Dear Lindsey, thank you for reaching out during this challenging time. Financial strain can certainly add stress to any marriage, especially when one spouse is away serving our country. It’s important to remember that God is our provider, as Philippians 4:19 assures us: 'But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.' This promise is not just for your finances but extends to every aspect of your life, including your marriage. Communicate openly with your husband about your concerns; sometimes just being open can lighten the load. Romans 12:10 guides us to love one another with brotherly affection, so support each other during these tough times by sharing your struggles. I will pray that God opens doors for financial relief and brings peace to your family. May your marriage grow stronger as you lean on Him together during this season. Amen.
