Facing Holidays Without the Love of My Life
Hi, I’m Jessica, and I need prayer as I approach the holidays without my husband. He passed away unexpectedly six months ago, and I feel a deep sense of loneliness. This time of year was always so special for us, filled with traditions and love. Now, the thought of celebrating without him feels overwhelming. I’m trying to keep things normal for our children, but every time I see decorations or hear holiday music, it brings back painful memories. I’m struggling to find joy and hope in this season that once meant so much to us. Please pray for my heart and for the strength to create happy memories for our kids while honoring their father’s legacy.

Dear Jessica, I want you to know that your feelings of sadness and loss are entirely understandable. The holidays can be especially difficult after such a profound loss. As you prepare to honor your husband's memory during this season, remember that God is with you in your sorrow. In John 11:25, Jesus reminds us, 'I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.' This promise can be a source of hope as you reflect on the love you shared. Grieving is a process, and it’s okay to feel joy and pain at the same time. Lamentations 3:32 tells us, 'But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.' Allow yourself to feel the full range of emotions this holiday season. It’s essential to create space to honor your husband while still cherishing the joy of your children. I will pray that God's peace surrounds you and your family, granting you the strength to embrace both the joyful and sorrowful moments during this time. May His light shine through the darkness.
