Fear of Backsliding in My Job Performance
Hello, my name is James. I am a recent college graduate, and I’ve been in my first full-time job for a few months now. While I initially felt confident, I’m starting to feel like I’m losing my edge. My fear is that I’m not performing well enough and that I will be dismissed as a result. I really want to make a good impression and contribute positively to my team, but I find myself filled with doubt. It's hard to shake the feeling that I’m not good enough or that I’m letting everyone down. I’m asking for prayer to help me regain my confidence and find contentment in my efforts, whatever the outcome may be.

Dear James, thank you for sharing your heart with us. It's common to feel pressure when entering the workforce, especially as a recent graduate. Remember that growth often comes with challenges. In 2 Timothy 1:7, we are reminded that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Embrace the truth that you are valuable just as you are, and that God works in your weaknesses. Philippians 4:13 states, 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.' Rely on Him for strength and confidence in your abilities. Trust that God has placed you in this position for a reason, and He will guide your path. When you feel discouraged, turn to the Lord with your worries as encouraged in 1 Peter 5:7. Let us pray: Heavenly Father, I pray for James as he navigates his new role. May he feel your presence and assurance in his work and find strength through Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.
