Fear of Dependency After My Accident

My name is Kevin, and I’m struggling with a deep sense of anxiety after my accident that left me unable to drive. It’s not just about the physical limitations—it’s the emotional toll of feeling dependent on others. I fear the judgment of others when I ask for help. I feel ashamed and angry, even at myself. I miss my independence and the way I used to live my life. I need prayers for healing and support as I navigate these feelings. I want to learn how to accept help gracefully and to find peace within myself during this challenging time.

Pastor David Chen

Senior Pastor, Bethel Church

Dear Kevin, thank you for openly sharing your struggles. I want you to know that your feelings are valid, and it’s okay to seek help from others. We are all part of the body of Christ, and Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 12:26 that 'if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it.' You are not alone in your feelings of dependency. God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He understands your pain. Remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. As you lean on your community and upon God, you will find the support you need. Cast your fears and burdens upon Him (1 Peter 5:7), and He will guide you. May His peace fill your heart as you embark on this journey of healing. Amen.
