Fear of Not Being Enough for God
My name is Caleb, and I am a 22-year-old college student. As I navigate my studies and relationships, I often find myself overwhelmed by anxiety over whether I am doing enough for God. I fear that my efforts in prayer and service are inadequate and that I am falling short of His expectations. The pressure I put on myself is immense, and it sometimes leads me to question whether I am truly saved. I want to know I am enough in His eyes and that I am living according to His purpose. Please pray for peace in my heart and clarity regarding my identity in Christ.

Senior Pastor, Bethel Church
Dear Caleb, thank you for your heartfelt message. It’s common for young believers to feel the weight of expectations, both from themselves and others. However, I want to remind you that your identity in Christ is not based on what you do, but on who you are in Him. Ephesians 2:8 tells us, 'For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.' Your salvation is a gift, not something earned by your performance. Furthermore, Philippians 4:7 reminds us, 'And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.' Allow His peace to guard your heart from anxiety. Remember, He has not given you a spirit of fear, but one of power and love, as stated in 2 Timothy 1:7. Embrace your identity as a beloved child of God, knowing that you are enough because of His grace. I pray you find reassurance and peace in your walk with Him. Amen.
