Feeling Lost in the Midst of Worship
I'm a 28-year-old woman named Sarah, and lately, I've been struggling to feel a connection with God during worship. I see others around me raising their hands and crying tears of joy, but I find myself standing there, empty and distant. It feels like there's a wall between me and God, and I'm not sure how to break it down. I want to experience His presence and feel His love wash over me, but instead, I feel stagnant in my faith. I pray for guidance and the ability to open my heart and reconnect with God in a deeper way during worship services.

Dear Sarah, I want you to know that it’s not uncommon to feel distant during worship, and you are not alone in this experience. The Bible tells us, 'Be still, and know that I am God' (Psalms 46:10). Sometimes, amidst the noise of life, we must quiet our hearts to hear His voice. Remember, our God is not far from us; nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:39). I encourage you to take time in private prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to open your heart to His presence. Worship is not just about your feelings but about your faith. 'Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God' (Romans 10:17). Perhaps immerse yourself in Scripture or listen to worship music in your quiet time. Let your heart slowly redo its connection with the Lord. I will pray for you, that God will meet you where you are and that you will feel His embrace in your worship.
