Feeling Overwhelmed by Caregiving Duties
I'm a 52-year-old woman named Sarah, and I have been caring for my elderly parents for the last three years. It's a full-time job on top of my part-time work, and the weight of their health issues is becoming unbearable. I find myself anxious every day, worrying about their well-being and whether I’m doing enough for them. I feel so alone, and there’s no one to help me. I keep trying to be strong, but I’m losing my grip. I don’t know how to ask for help or when I’ll find a moment to breathe. Please pray that God gives me peace in this storm and that I will find relief, whether through His strength or through others. I’m asking for prayers for guidance and for the ability to find joy in this difficult season.

Pastor Maria Santos
Missions Pastor, First Baptist Church
Dear Sarah, thank you for sharing your heartfelt burden with us. Caregiving can indeed be overwhelming, and I commend you for your dedication to your parents. I want to remind you of the promise in Matthew 6:34, where Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow, as each day has enough trouble of its own. We're not meant to carry these burdens alone. I encourage you to lean on the Lord and trust in His provision. 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to cast all our cares upon Him, for He cares for us. God sees your struggle and understands your heart. Remember that He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalms 46:1). I will be praying for God to grant you peace and respite, whether through the support of friends or community resources. May you feel His presence lifting your burdens. Amen.
