Fighting the Weight of Constant Vigilance
Hi, I'm Ana, and my experience with domestic abuse has left me in a constant state of alertness. I find it exhausting to live as if I’m always on guard against potential threats. Even in safe environments, I jump at the slightest sound. I know that I should be able to rest and feel secure, but my body doesn't seem to agree. I yearn for a sense of normalcy and peace in my life. I recognize that God promises us rest, as mentioned in Matthew 11:28, but I'm struggling to accept it. Please pray that I can find the healing I need and release my fear into God's hands.

Dear Ana, it’s a privilege to pray for you, and I commend your bravery in sharing your journey. Living in a heightened state of vigilance is incredibly taxing, both physically and emotionally. I want you to hold on to the promise from Matthew 11:28, where Jesus invites us, 'Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' This is not just a call to those who are weary from work but also to those who carry burdens of fear and anxiety. As you place your trust in Him, let each prayer be an act of surrender, casting your cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). Remember, you are a beloved child of God, and He desires for you to live in peace rather than fear. In Isaiah 41:10, He reassures us that we are never alone—He is always there to strengthen and uphold us. Let's pray for healing and for the peace of Christ to envelop you, allowing you to experience a sense of safety and calm in your life.
