Finding Common Ground with My Siblings in Caregiving
As we face the reality of our aging parents needing more care, my siblings and I have been disagreeing more than ever. It seems every conversation turns into a debate about how to best support our mom and dad. I am exhausted from the emotional rollercoaster and just want us to find a way to work together. I pray for the ability to communicate openly and to listen to each other's concerns without judgment. I hope for a spirit of unity and collaboration, as our parents deserve our best in this challenging season. Please pray that God would help us to recognize what truly matters and that we would be filled with love for one another.

Dear Laura, thank you for your heartfelt prayer request. It’s so challenging when family members disagree during difficult times. I want to encourage you that it’s never too late to seek peace. In Genesis 2:24, we are reminded that a family is meant to be united, and striving for common ground can lead to deeper bonds. As you approach these discussions, consider Philippians 2:3, which says, 'Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.' This mindset can transform your conversations and help you listen to one another. I will lift you and your family in prayer, asking God to fill your hearts with understanding and compassion. Lord, please bless Laura and her siblings with a spirit of harmony as they care for their parents. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
