Finding Faith After Losing My Spiritual Guide
Dear God, I come before You with a heavy heart after the passing of my beloved mentor, Pastor James. He was my spiritual father and guide, and now I feel lost without his wisdom and support. Every conversation we had deepened my faith, and I can’t shake the feeling of being adrift. I find myself questioning everything I believed, and I worry that I will never feel that close connection to You again. I feel like an orphan in my faith, struggling to understand how to carry on without him. Lord, I ask for Your comfort and guidance during this painful time. Please help me to find a way to continue my spiritual journey in a world that feels so different now. Amen.

Dear Evelyn, I want you to know that your feelings of loss are completely valid. Grief can feel like a heavy weight, especially after losing someone who played such an integral role in your spiritual life. Remember, Jesus said, 'I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live' (John 11:25). Your mentor has transitioned, but his legacy of faith lives on in you. As you navigate this new chapter, hold tight to the promise in Psalms, 'Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me' (Psalm 23:4). God is with you, even in your loneliness. Allow Him to fill that void. I encourage you to lean on the community of faith that your mentor cultivated, as they can provide support and encouragement. In the midst of your grief, know that 'we sorrow not, as others which have no hope' (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
