Finding Faith in the Face of Transition
As I face the imminent transition into retirement, I am overwhelmed by anxiety and fear about my identity. I have dedicated years to my profession, and I feel a profound sense of loss even before it begins. Questions about what to do with my time and how to find fulfillment keep me up at night. I am praying for God to grant me peace and help me see my value beyond my career. I ask for prayers that I can cultivate new interests and relationships that will bring me joy in this new season of life.

Dear Evelyn, I understand your worries during this pivotal time of your life. It’s completely normal to feel a sense of loss as you prepare for retirement. But take heart: God is with you, and He has incredible plans in store for you. Philippians 4:7 reassures us of God’s peace that surpasses our understanding. Trust in His promise to guide you through this transition. Matthew 6:34 reminds us not to be anxious about tomorrow—He wants us to take one day at a time. Embrace this new chapter as a time to explore new passions, engage in your community, or even volunteer. Let us pray for God’s peace to surround you: Heavenly Father, please guide Evelyn in this transition. Help her to find joy and purpose outside her career. Amen.
