Finding Faith While Analyzing the World Around Me
As a 38-year-old social scientist, I study human behavior and societal structures. My work often leads me to question deeply held beliefs, including my own faith. I grew up in the church, but as I analyze the world, I find my faith challenged. I want to maintain my commitment to God while being honest about my findings. I am seeking prayer to help me navigate this intricate balance without losing my faith. I long for wisdom and courage to stand firm in my beliefs while also engaging in critical analysis.

Dear Oliver, your pursuit of understanding human behavior through the lens of social science is both noble and complex. It's commendable that you are committed to honesty in your findings while seeking to maintain your faith. The challenge of navigating these waters can lead to rich discussions and deeper convictions. Remember, even in your analyses, God is sovereign over all creation. 'For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, shall be able to separate us from the love of God' (Romans 8:38-39). Your faith can be a source of strength as you seek to discover truths about humanity. God invites us to ask for wisdom in all things (James 1:5), and I encourage you to pray for discernment in your work. May God guide you as you strive to balance your scientific inquiries with your commitment to Him. I will be praying for your journey, that you may find courage and clarity along the way.
