Finding Freedom from Spiritual Anxiety

·Eliana·November 7, 2024

I’m Eliana, a 30-year-old woman who has been wrestling with obsessive thoughts that revolve around my faith. These thoughts often lead me to question every word I say and every action I take. I fear that I might be sinning even in my attempts to do good. This mental battle is exhausting, and I feel isolated from God, as if my anxiety has created a wall between us. I long for freedom from these burdensome thoughts and to experience the fullness of God's grace. I ask for prayer to help me learn to trust in His love rather than my own feelings of doubt.

Dear Eliana, thank you for voicing your struggles so honestly. I can sense the weight you carry, and I want you to know that God sees you. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites us, 'Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' He desires to lift your burdens and provide a refreshing perspective on your faith. It’s important to understand that our feelings may deceive us; they can lead us to believe we are unworthy. However, Isaiah 41:10 reassures us that God is with us, and He will uphold us when we feel weak. Remember, in 2 Timothy 1:7, we are reminded that God has given us not a spirit of fear but of power and love. I encourage you to meditate on these scriptures and pray for the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with peace and assurance. Let’s pray for God to grant you the freedom you seek and to replace your fears with His unfailing love.
