Finding God in the Darkness of Burnout
As a female pastor serving in a small town, I have poured my heart and soul into my congregation, but I now find myself feeling completely drained and burned out. The pressure to be a strong leader has taken a toll on my emotional and spiritual well-being. I feel distant from God and question whether I am still meant to serve in this capacity. I am asking for prayers for renewal and healing. I need to feel God’s presence again and rediscover the joy and passion I once had for ministry. Please pray that I can find a way through this darkness and regain my strength.

Dear Linda, thank you for your honest prayer request. It’s vital to acknowledge when burnout affects our spirit, especially in ministry. Rest assured, God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Sometimes, God allows us to go through these valleys so we can learn to rely fully on Him. In Hebrews 11:1, we are reminded that 'faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.' Although you may feel distant right now, trust that God is still working within you. Take time to breathe, pray, and even seek support from fellow leaders. This period can be a transformative journey leading you closer to Him. Let’s pray: Lord, I lift up Linda to You. Restore her spirit and help her find joy in Your presence once again. Amen.
