Finding Hope After Years of Religious Control
After years of being part of a very controlling religious group, I finally made the difficult decision to leave. This has cost me dearly, as my family remains involved and views my departure as a betrayal. I feel so much guilt and sadness for how this has affected my loved ones, yet I know that staying would have stunted my growth. I earnestly request prayer for reconciliation and healing for my family, as well as for strength to continue on my path. I long for a relationship with my family that is based on love and understanding, rather than judgment and resentment.

Dear Maya, your courage in choosing to break free from a controlling situation is commendable. It takes great strength to prioritize your spiritual health, and I want to encourage you in this journey. The pain of separation from loved ones is indeed profound. In Matthew 19:6, we are reminded, 'What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.' Your commitment to your family remains, even if your paths diverge. The love you have for them is reflected in your desire for reconciliation, and I assure you that God honors that love. In Romans 12:18, it says, 'If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.' Continue to strive for peace, and trust that God is working in their hearts as well. Let us pray together for healing both within you and in your family relationships. Amen.
