Finding Joy After Losing My Hand
My name is Elizabeth, I’m a 34-year-old mother of two. I lost my hand in a work-related injury, and it’s been a huge adjustment for me and my family. I feel like I have lost my ability to care for my children the way I used to. The guilt of not being able to do simple tasks weighs heavily on me, and I find it difficult to engage with my kids without feeling that loss. I seek prayers for healing and for the strength to embrace my new circumstances. I want to find joy in the small moments again and be the mom my children deserve.

Dear Elizabeth, thank you for sharing your heart with us. The journey you are on is indeed challenging, and I deeply empathize with the feelings of guilt and loss you are experiencing. It's important to acknowledge that your worth as a mother is not defined by your physical capabilities. Remember that God sees your spirit and heart; Psalm 147:3 tells us, 'He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.' Healing is not just physical; it often occurs in our hearts and minds, too. As you navigate these changes with your children, lean into the love and support that surrounds you. You can still create beautiful moments as a family. Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, I lift Elizabeth up to You. Give her the strength to embrace her new reality and the joy that comes from being a loving mother. Surround her with Your peace and encouragement. In Jesus' name, Amen.
