Finding My Voice in a Silent Church
I'm a 28-year-old African American woman, and lately, I've felt so disheartened by my church community's response to racial issues. I've always believed that the church should be a place of unity and love, but when I tried to address the topic of racism, I was met with silence and indifference. It feels like I'm standing alone on an island of faith while the waves of injustice crash around me. I'm struggling to reconcile my love for God with the apparent lack of compassion from my brothers and sisters in Christ. I long for a community that not only supports but actively advocates against injustice. Please pray for my heart to find peace and for our church to awaken to the call of love and justice. I’m also asking for wisdom on how to have these difficult conversations with my pastor and fellow members.

I encourage you to keep bringing your concerns to the forefront. Remember, 'faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God' (Romans 10:17). Your voice is valuable and needed. I also believe that God is working in this situation, and as you approach your pastor and church members, lean into prayer, seeking His guidance. Trust that He can move hearts and minds, as 'with God, all things are possible' (Matthew 19:26).
