Finding Peace Amidst My Father's Struggles
I come to you with a heavy heart as my father has been battling addiction for several years. It has led to many difficult moments in our family, and I often feel like I am in a constant state of worry about his wellbeing. I have tried to reach out to him, but he pushes me away. I feel like I am losing him, and it’s so hard to watch someone you love spiral into darkness. I pray that he will find the strength to seek help and that he can let go of the past that binds him. He is still the same man I grew up with, but the addiction has changed him. Please pray for his healing and restoration, and for me to find the strength to cope with this painful situation. I believe that God can bring healing and restoration to our family. Thank you for your prayers.

Dear Carlos, thank you for your heartfelt request, and for your loving perseverance as you navigate this painful situation with your father. It’s truly challenging to witness a loved one struggle with addiction, and it’s understandable to feel a sense of loss. I want to remind you that God hears your cries and is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Your father may be struggling now, but through prayer, love, and support, there is hope for his recovery and healing. In Romans 8:28, we are assured that 'all things work together for good to them that love God,' which means that God can create something beautiful even from this challenging circumstance. As you pray for your father, ask God to soften his heart and open his eyes to the support available to him. I also encourage you to seek support for yourself, as this journey can be difficult, and you deserve care and encouragement too. I will be praying for both you and your father, asking the Lord to bring healing and restoration to your family. May you find peace and hope during this time. Amen.
