Finding Peace in My Scripture Reading Journey
Dear Lord, I am reaching out because I feel lost and ashamed about my inconsistency in reading the Bible. Each time I open it, I sense the peace it brings, but I struggle to keep that connection alive. I want to grow spiritually, yet I often feel guilty for not prioritizing my time with You. Life has been hectic lately, and I find it so easy to get distracted. I long for the wisdom and understanding that comes from Your Word, but I struggle to make it a daily habit. Please help me gain the strength and discipline to read the Bible consistently. I ask for Your guidance and support in rekindling my desire to know You deeper through Your Scriptures.

Dear Michael, thank you for your vulnerable prayer request. It’s truly commendable that you recognize the importance of Scripture in your life. Remember, it’s okay to have ups and downs in your commitment to reading the Bible. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Even when you struggle, God is working in your heart to cultivate a deeper faith. I encourage you to start with short, focused readings that feel manageable. Maybe choose a Psalm or a chapter that resonates with you. Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” When we engage with His Word, we allow it to illuminate our lives. Remember, you are not alone in this journey, and God is always ready to welcome you back. Let’s pray together: Lord, I lift Michael up to You. May he find peace and strength in his Scripture reading journey. Help him rekindle his passion for Your Word. Amen.
