Finding Peace in the Breath of Life
Hello, I'm Maria, a 62-year-old grandmother who has been trying to manage my COPD for several years. The struggle to breathe has made it hard for me to enjoy activities with my grandchildren, and I often find myself feeling hopeless. I miss going on walks with them and sharing stories without the fear of overwhelming fatigue. The doctor says I have to take more medications, but I feel so scared and anxious about the side effects. I am asking for prayer for healing, strength, and a sense of peace to wash over me as I face these challenges. I just want to enjoy the time I have with my family and breathe easier.

Dear Maria, thank you for sharing your heart with us. The burden of living with COPD can feel overwhelming, especially when it impacts precious moments with your grandchildren. God understands your fears and anxieties. In 3 John 1:2, we are reminded, 'Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.' This verse reflects God's desire for us to experience wholeness in every aspect of our lives, including our health. I encourage you to lean on Him in prayer, as Philippians 4:6 tells us to be careful for nothing; instead, through prayer and supplication, we can make our requests known to God. His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind. It’s a promise that He takes delight in our joys and sorrows, and I pray you feel His presence closely during this time. May you find comfort in knowing that healing is possible, and your story is not over. Let us pray for renewed strength and lighter breaths as you cherish every moment with your loved ones.
