Finding Peace While Away from Family
As a 40-year-old father of three, working nights to keep our family afloat has been both a blessing and a burden. The financial strains are present, but the emotional toll of missing out on family moments is heavy. I am often tired and struggle to keep my mood up, especially when my kids ask why I can't be there for them. I pray for God to ease my exhaustion and to help me be more present during the little time I have with them. I need His guidance to manage this difficult schedule while ensuring my family's needs are met.

Dear David, thank you for sharing your heart. Balancing work and family is a challenge many face, especially in your situation. It's commendable that you are prioritizing your family's needs, despite the sacrifices it may require from you. Remember that God is always there for you, even in your absence. 1 Timothy 6:6 says, 'But godliness with contentment is great gain.' Find peace in knowing that you are doing this for their well-being. Your love and efforts will surely strengthen your bonds. Psalm 37:4 also teaches us, 'Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.' Hold onto that promise as you navigate your night shifts. I will pray that God gives you the strength to fulfill your responsibilities while nurturing your family connections. Let us pray: Heavenly Father, give David the peace and strength to endure his night shifts, and help him cherish the time he has with his family. Amen.
