Finding Strength as a Caregiver with COPD in the Family
Dear Lord, I come to You weary and burdened. My mother has been battling COPD, and I am her primary caregiver. Each day presents new challenges, from managing her medications to assisting her with daily tasks. I feel overwhelmed and often question if I am doing enough for her. Watching her struggle for each breath fills me with anxiety, and I worry about what lies ahead. I ask for prayer for both of us, that she finds relief and comfort, and that I am granted the strength and wisdom to care for her. Lord, I want to be her anchor during this storm and reflect Your love and grace even when I feel exhausted. Please help me to find moments of peace amidst the chaos. Amen.

Dear Jessica, thank you for your openness in sharing your struggles as a caregiver. It is a tremendous responsibility, and your love for your mother shines through your words. It’s important to remember that God sees your efforts and your heart. In Jeremiah 30:17, He promises, 'For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds.' This provides a powerful reminder that healing is part of His plan for your mother. Additionally, in Isaiah 41:10, we are reassured, 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee.' God is with you, providing the strength you need to support your mother. Remember to also take care of yourself, as self-care is crucial in caregiving. Reach out to your church community for support, and do not hesitate to lean on others. Let’s pray together for both of you: for her relief and for God's strength to uplift you during this journey. May He wrap you both in His love and give you peace.
