Finding Strength in Caring for My Mother with Alzheimer's
As my mother's Alzheimer's progresses, I find myself grieving the loss of our relationship while she is still with us. It's hard to reconcile the sweet memories of her laughter with the confusion and fear I see in her eyes now. I feel a profound sense of helplessness as I watch her struggle with everyday tasks. Please pray that I can find the strength to care for her, to be patient, and to keep her dignity intact. I pray for moments of connection that remind us both of the love we share, even when our interactions are fleeting.

Dear Sarah, thank you for sharing your heart with us. Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's is a unique and heavy burden. It’s perfectly natural to feel a sense of loss as your relationship changes. Remember, God is near to you in these moments of grief, as Psalm 34:18 assures us. May you find comfort in knowing that He is your strength and refuge, and that He sees your efforts to care for your mother with great love. Hold onto the hope found in 2 Corinthians 1:4, which speaks of God’s comforting presence, and let that be your anchor. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, I ask that You hold Sarah close to Your heart. Grant her peace, patience, and moments of joy as she cares for her mother. Amen.
