Finding Strength in Our Interracial Marriage Challenges
Dear God, my partner and I are committed to one another, yet our families are struggling to accept our interracial marriage. Comments have been made that feel hurtful and isolating. I feel torn between loving my spouse and wanting my family’s acceptance. Lord, grant me the strength to stand firm in our love and faith. I pray that You open my family’s eyes to the truth of our love and help them realize that our differences should be celebrated, not condemned. May Your Spirit guide me in approaching them with humility and grace, and help us foster understanding. I believe that through You, healing can happen. Amen.

Dear Ravi, thank you for your heartfelt prayer request. It can be incredibly painful to face opposition from family regarding your marriage, but I want to encourage you that God sees your commitment and love. In Romans 12:10, we are reminded to be kindly affectionate one to another, which is in line with how we should approach our families. Your love is a testament to God’s design for marriage, and it’s important to remain steadfast in that truth. As you reach out to your family, remember that patience and understanding can bridge the gaps caused by prejudice. God can heal these divisions, as seen in Joel 2:25, where He promises restoration. Let’s lift up your families in prayer, asking God to soften their hearts and to help them see the beauty in your union. Amen.
