Guidance for Parents of a Troubled Teen
Dear Lord, I come to You filled with anxiety as my son, Michael, has started using substances and engaging in other risky behaviors. As his father, I feel overwhelmed and at a loss for what to do. I pray for wisdom to guide him and strength to stand firm in my love for him. Help me to be the father he needs right now, not just in authority but in compassion. I fear for his future and the choices he is making. Please intervene in his life and bring him back to safety. I ask for Your peace to fill our home and Your protection over my son. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Dear David, thank you for your vulnerability in sharing this prayer request. It’s incredibly tough to witness our children struggle, but remember God's promise: 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil' (Jeremiah 29:11). Your love and resolve to seek help for Michael is commendable. Keep communicating with him and reinforcing your support. Remember, 'With God all things are possible' (Matthew 19:26). Trust that God can heal not just Michael but your relationship as well. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, we lift Michael to You, asking for Your divine intervention. Guide David as he seeks to support his son. Amen.
