Guidance for Starting Over After Job Loss
Hi, I’m David, and I’m 52 years old. I recently lost my job when my company automated my position. The sudden loss has shaken my confidence and made me question my skills. I’m in a place where I need to retrain, but I feel lost. My family relies on me, and I want to be a good provider. I pray for clarity and determination to learn new skills. I also ask for wisdom in choosing what courses to take. I want to find a job that not only pays the bills but is also fulfilling.

Dear David, thank you for your heartfelt prayer request. Transitioning to a new career can be daunting, especially when faced with unexpected changes. However, I want you to hold onto the promise found in Psalm 37:4, 'Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.' God knows your needs and desires, and He has a plan for you. I encourage you to lean on Him during this time and seek His guidance. As you consider your options, remember that God’s wisdom is invaluable. In James 1:5, we are reminded to ask God for wisdom, and He will generously provide it. Pray over your choices, and trust that God will lead you to the right path. I will be praying for you as you seek new opportunities. Let us pray: Lord, guide David as he navigates this transition and inspire him with renewed purpose. Amen.
