Guidance in Building Trust with Foster Children
Lord, I find myself sitting in the quiet of the night, burdened by the responsibility of fostering children who have endured so much. They come to us with walls built high, and I struggle to find ways to reach their hearts and gain their trust. Help me to be sensitive to their needs and to show them that our home is a safe place. I pray for the wisdom to communicate effectively and for the patience to understand their pace of healing. Guide my actions so that, through Your love, they can slowly learn to trust again. I want to reflect Your love and grace to them. Help me to be a beacon of hope in their lives, no matter how long it takes. Help us all to grow together in Your love. In Your name, Amen.

Dear Emily, thank you for your heartfelt request. Building trust with children who have faced trauma is indeed a delicate process, but your commitment to this task is commendable. Remember that God is a God of restoration, as stated in Ruth 1:16, "Whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God." This reflects the deep commitment we are called to have in caring for others, just as you are doing. Trust takes time, but God is walking with you in this journey. Stay encouraged in the knowledge that healing and trust are cultivated through consistent love and patience. Let’s pray together: May you be filled with the wisdom to navigate these challenges, and may your foster children feel the embrace of God’s love through your actions. Amen.
