Healing for My Spouse's Struggle with Alcoholism

As a 29-year-old husband, I feel like I'm losing my wife to her battle with alcoholism. There was a time when our home was filled with laughter and love, but now it feels like a shadow of what it used to be. My wife’s drinking has escalated to the point where it endangers our children's well-being. I’m scared and frustrated, not knowing how to help her without driving her further away. I pray that she finds the strength to seek help, and I ask for prayer that our home can be filled with joy and safety once again. I believe that with God’s help, healing can happen, and our family can be restored. Please pray for us during this incredibly difficult time.

Dear Josh, your heartache is palpable, and I want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. God sees your pain and desires to bring healing to your family. In Ephesians 5:25, we see how husbands are called to love their wives, as Christ loved the church. Your commitment to love your wife through this difficult season is commendable. Remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). This means you can face your challenges with courage and faith. Psalm 46:1 promises us that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.' As you pray for your wife's healing, don’t forget to take care of your emotional well-being too; seek support from your church community. Let us pray: Lord, we lift up Josh and his wife before You. We ask for Your intervention in her struggle with alcoholism and for healing in their family. Please provide them with Your peace and hope. Amen.
