Healing from Generational Patterns of Neglect
I'm Roger, a 42-year-old husband and father. Growing up, my parents were emotionally distant, and now I'm seeing the same patterns affecting my relationship with my wife and our children. I struggle to express affection and often withdraw into myself. Please pray for me to break free from this cycle of neglect that has been passed down through my family. I want to show my wife the love she deserves and be a more present father to my kids. I am desperately seeking God's guidance and healing in my heart to overcome this generational pattern.

Dear Roger, thank you for sharing your heart with us. It's never easy to confront the ways our upbringing affects us, but you are taking a vital step by seeking healing. God has great plans for you and your family. As stated in Genesis 2:24, 'Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.' This is a beautiful reminder of the new family you are building with your wife. I encourage you to pray together, share your feelings, and discuss ways you can each express love. Remember, in 1 Corinthians 13:4, we see that 'charity is patient, charity is kind.' May this verse guide you in your interactions. I will pray that God fills your heart with His love and helps you to create an emotionally safe space for your family.
