Hope for My College Roommate's Faith Journey

As I start my first year at university, I’m excited yet anxious. I met my roommate, Eric, who comes from a different faith background and has expressed doubts about God. We’ve had philosophical discussions, and I sense he is searching for something deeper. I want to share my faith with him, but I’m not sure how to approach it without pushing him away. I’m asking for prayers that God would give me wisdom as I navigate these conversations. I pray that Eric would open his heart to the Gospel and understand the truth of Christ's love. I want him to find peace and fulfillment through Jesus.

Dear Emily, I’m glad to hear about your heart for your roommate Eric. Starting college is a significant transition, and you are already being a light in his life by caring about his spiritual journey. It’s wonderful that you are eager to share the hope you have in Christ. As you engage in conversation with him, remember the words of John 14:6, where Jesus proclaims, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life.' This is the foundation of our faith. Trust the Holy Spirit to work in Eric’s heart as you speak. It’s important to approach him with love and understanding (1 Peter 3:15), being ready to answer his questions gently. Pray for opportunities to naturally share your testimony and the love of Christ that has transformed your life. Remember, salvation is a gift from God, as stated in Ephesians 2:8-9. Let us pray: Lord, I lift up Emily and Eric to You. Please give them the words to say and the openness needed in their discussions, drawing Eric closer to You. Amen.
