Longing for Assurance in God’s Grace
I’m Angela, a 39-year-old who has been battling a crippling fear of hell for many years. Despite my attempts to grow spiritually, I find myself overwhelmed by the fear that I am not good enough for God’s grace. My heart races whenever I think of eternity, and I feel lost in my faith. I seek prayer for the assurance that I am saved and that God loves me unconditionally, regardless of my past failures. I want to be able to rest in His grace without the constant worry of hell hanging over my head. I long to cultivate a deeper relationship with Christ and trust Him fully.

Dear Angela, thank you for your heartfelt request. It’s important to remember that God welcomes us with open arms, regardless of our past. As it says in Hebrews 11:1, faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. You are not alone in your fears; many believers wrestle with similar thoughts. Rather than allowing fear to dominate your mind, I encourage you to focus on God’s promises. Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing, so immerse yourself in God’s Word. Remember, nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:39). As you seek Him, may you find the peace and assurance you desire. Let’s pray: Lord, I pray that You provide Angela with the comfort and assurance she seeks. Help her to fully embrace Your grace and the love You have for her. In Jesus' name, Amen.
