Longing for My Father's Heart to Open to Christ
I have been praying for my father’s salvation for years. He is a staunch believer in his political views and dismisses any mention of faith as irrelevant. It hurts to see him so closed off to the love of Jesus. I remember the days when we used to talk about everything, and I miss that connection. I want nothing more than for him to know that salvation is available to him. I plead with God to break down the barriers that keep him from seeing the truth of the Gospel. I pray that he would have a heart change and be open to seeking God. Please join me in praying for my father’s heart to soften and for him to find the joy of salvation.

Dear Elliot, thank you for sharing your heartfelt burden for your father. It can be deeply challenging when family members hold fast to their beliefs, but remember that God is in control. He can soften the hardest of hearts. As it says in John 3:16, God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. This promise extends to your father too. Continue to pray and demonstrate unconditional love; it may help him to reconsider his stance. Your prayers are powerful, and God often uses our prayers to move mountains. Let’s pray together: Lord, I lift Elliot’s father to You. May You break through the barriers and reveal Your love and truth to him. Amen.
