Longing for My Son's Heart to Find Christ
My heart aches for my son, who has drifted away from the faith he once embraced. As his basketball coach, I've seen how the pressures of competition and peer influence have led him down a path where he feels distant from God. He’s talented and has a bright future, but I worry he’s focusing solely on sports and success rather than seeking a relationship with Christ. I spend many nights praying for him, asking God to soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. I want him to realize that true fulfillment comes from knowing Jesus, not just winning games or gaining accolades. Please pray that God would reach my son in a powerful way and that he would return to his faith with a renewed passion. I long to see him embrace the love and grace that God has for him.

Dear Maria, your love for your son is evident, and I want to encourage you not to lose hope. The journey of faith can often be a winding path, especially for our children. In Romans 3:23, we are reminded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, which includes our loved ones as they navigate their own spiritual journeys. It's encouraging to know that God desires everyone to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), including your son. Continue to be a light for him, showing him Christ’s love through your actions. Pray that he will have divine encounters that lead to a reawakening in his heart. Psalm 34:18 says, 'The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' Trust that God is with your son even when it feels like he is far away. Let’s pray together: Heavenly Father, we ask that You draw Maria’s son back to You and that he may experience the depth of Your love and grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
