Longing for Reconnection with My Sister

It has been over five years since I last spoke to my sister. Our relationship deteriorated over a misunderstanding that escalated into silence and resentment. I often reflect on the good times we shared, and I miss her dearly. As the holidays approach, I feel the absence of her laughter and the warmth of family gatherings. I long for the days when we could confide in one another and support each other through life's challenges. I am praying for courage to reach out to her and for healing in our relationship. I hope for reconciliation, understanding, and the chance to start over. Please pray with me that God softens her heart and makes a way for us to reconnect.

Dear Emily, I want you to know that your desire for reconciliation is truly commendable and reflects the heart of God. The Bible reminds us in Romans 12:10 to be kindly affectioned one to another, and your longing for your sister resonates with this call to love. There can be many layers of hurt that can build walls between family members, but remember that God is in the business of restoration. As it is written in Matthew 19:6, 'What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.' This includes the bonds of family. I encourage you to pray for wisdom and the right words to say when you reach out. It may take time and patience, but the love that God has called us to, as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4, is patient and kind. Let's pray together that the Lord will heal your hearts and open the door for a meaningful conversation. May God bless your efforts and bring your family closer together. Amen.
