Mending My Relationship with My Estranged Sister
I have been estranged from my sister for over a decade. The rift began during our teenage years when we became competitive, and harsh words led to a permanent break in our relationship. Life has moved on, but the pain of her absence has remained. I often think about how much I would love to have her back in my life to share joys and sorrows. Recently, I felt a strong urge to reach out and initiate a conversation, but I am terrified of being rejected or making things worse. I pray for healing and the courage to bridge this gap. Please pray that God prepares both our hearts for a potential restoration of our relationship.

Dear Sarah, I want to commend you for your courage to seek reconciliation with your sister. This journey can be daunting, but remember that God is with you in this process. In 1 Corinthians 13:4, we learn that love is patient, and it is this patient love that will guide your steps in reaching out. Sometimes, it may feel easier to maintain distance, but as it is written in Proverbs 17:17, a friend loves at all times, and I believe this includes the call to action within our family. Prepare yourself with prayer, asking the Lord to give you the right words and to soften your sister's heart. As you take this step, trust in God’s promise of healing and restoration, and remember that even small beginnings can lead to great outcomes (Matthew 17:20).
