Navigating Burnout Amidst Seminary Demands
Hi, I'm David, and I’m in my final year of seminary. I have always dreamt of serving in ministry, but now I feel utterly burnt out. The pressures of coursework, internships, and the expectation to excel have become overwhelming. I used to find joy in studying Scripture and preparing sermons, but now it feels like a chore. I worry that my burnout might affect my effectiveness in ministry after graduation. I need prayer for strength to continue and for a restoration of my joy in serving God. I want to finish strong and carry the love of Christ into my future work.

Dear David, thank you for being honest about your feelings. Burnout can be a heavy burden to bear, especially in a demanding environment like seminary. I want to remind you of Matthew 11:28-30, where Jesus invites the weary to come to Him for rest. In this busy season, take intentional time to recharge your spirit, engage in hobbies you love, and seek fellowship with believers who can uplift you. Remember to continually seek God’s guidance, as He is faithful to provide wisdom (James 1:5). It’s essential to focus on your spiritual health as much as your academic achievements. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and know that He will equip you for your calling (Philippians 4:13). Let’s pray: Lord, please refresh David's spirit and restore the joy he once felt in serving You. Amen.
