Navigating Career Changes at This Stage of Life
Hi, I'm Rebecca. I recently turned 50, and after many years in the corporate world, I feel a strong urge to make a career change. However, I am wrestling with self-doubt and fears about starting fresh at my age. The idea of going back to school or training for a new field seems overwhelming. I have been praying for clarity and courage, but the journey feels isolating. I seek prayer for guidance in discerning God’s will for my life and for the confidence to take the leap into something new. I want to trust that God has plans for me even in this new season.

Dear Rebecca, it’s wonderful that you are seeking God’s direction for this new chapter in your life. Change can indeed be intimidating, especially when it involves stepping into the unknown. Yet, remember that God does not measure our potential by age but by our willingness to follow Him. In Ecclesiastes 9:11, we read, 'The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong...' This teaches us that life’s outcomes don’t rely solely on our past experiences but on God’s purpose for us. Trust in the promise of James 1:5: 'If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.' I urge you to pray for wisdom and confidence as you explore potential paths. God is faithful, and He knows the plans He has for you (Jeremiah 29:11). I will keep you in my prayers as you embark on this exciting journey!
