Navigating Doubt in My New Faith Journey

My name is Linda, and I’m a 50-year-old woman who recently gave my life to Christ while incarcerated. I feel a wave of emotions, from joy to doubt. My family remains skeptical and often questions my sincerity. Their doubts make me question my faith sometimes. I want to become a role model for my children, but I fear they see my past more than my present. I often pray for God’s guidance to help me show my family His love, and I’m asking for prayer to strengthen my faith and help my family accept my new path.

Dear Linda, your vulnerability in sharing your journey is commendable. It’s understandable to feel doubt, especially when your family is not fully supportive of your faith. Remember, you are not alone in this battle; Jesus said in John 10:10, 'I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.' Your new life in Christ is a gift not only for you but also for your family to witness. Keep seeking Him through prayer and His Word, for Romans 10:17 assures us that 'faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.' You can inspire your family to look beyond your past as they see the transformative power of Christ in your life. Keep pressing forward, and do not let doubt extinguish the light of your faith. As you show them the love of God, they will begin to see the changes in you. Let’s pray: Lord, strengthen Linda’s faith and let her family see the work You are doing in her life. Amen.
