Navigating Doubts in a Divided Community
As a 32-year-old Asian American female, I’m reaching out because I've been struggling with the response from my predominantly white church regarding racial injustices. I have witnessed injustices played out in our community and have tried to encourage conversations about them, but I often feel dismissed or met with defensiveness. This has left me feeling isolated and unsure of my place within the church. I want to grow in faith, but I find myself questioning the sincerity of our community's love for one another. Please pray for my heart to heal and for our church to embrace the call to stand against racism. I desire to see genuine dialogue and understanding among us.

Dear Linh, thank you for sharing your feelings with such honesty. It's not easy to navigate the complexities of faith in a divided community, and your concerns are valid. The Lord calls us to love one another, and as you patiently seek to foster that love, I encourage you to remember 'For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind' (2 Timothy 1:7). Your desire to pursue genuine dialogue is a beautiful reflection of the heart of Jesus. He calls us to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9), and it’s through your continued prayers and conversations that change can begin to happen. I will pray for you, Linh, that God grants you strength and wisdom to engage with your community lovingly. May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind, even in these challenging times.
